Find what is fun for you and the hard work won't feel so hard anymore.

Working hard cannot be sustained if it isnt fun.

Who said life has to feel hard? It's not supposed to. I hate to break it to you, though, you are supposed to work on something. It's how we obtain meaning. Its what keeps us evolving and growing which is the whole point of being alive. If you stagnate, you die. Work is supposed to exist and everybody has theirs cut out for them but how we go about it is completely up to us. That's why we are supposed to look for hard work that is fun.

Fun is subjective.

Everyone can look at the same thing and view it completely different. What is fun for me could not be fun for you and viceversa. Which is why there is something out there for everyone. What I find hard, you might not. Since life is subjective, you are meant to go do your God-assigned hard work in a way that is fun to you.

Some people will go get a masters degree or a PhD and have the time of their lives doing it. A degree is hard work. Some people might want to be stay at home parents and absolutely love it. Being a stay at home parent is hard work. No matter what goal you pick, there will be hard work involved, but can you enjoy it?

The hard work is supposed to feel like an adventure. The goals you pick are to be enjoyed the whole way. You are alive and able to create something, isn't the process magnificent? There will always be pros and cons to everything. Why not pick stuff you can enjoy the cons of.

There will always be hard in your life. It's part of life. Matter is dense and can feel so heavy at times. It is so important to cherry pick what you want your hard to be. Nothing is worse that doing hard things with zero zest or joy for life. Nothing is worse than doing hard work that doesn't even come with the rewards we want.

Take being a stay at home parent, for example. If you dont picture a beautiful family at the end of the road of parenting, then why are you putting in that hard work? Don’t do things at random. Pick wisely. Build with purpose. If you can’t enjoy at all being home why would you stay home? Make the goals you pick make sense to you.
Take being an entrepreneur as another example. It is hard work to build a business because the pay off is not guaranteed. Can you enjoy the process of building said business? Otherwise, just stay working for something established that gives you the opportunities to do what you want. Either way, it will be hard. Which is one is your hard?

The work has to feel like an adventure. It has to be something you are visualizing that has a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It will feel empty if not. Not everyone can just do things at random or stay completely present all the time. If you can, this specific post isn't for you. Maybe you enjoy everything and if thats the case, you unlocked the secret sauce to life. But if you don't enjoy everything, pick the hard that you are most curious for.

Curiosity is fun. It is the first step, at least. So if you cant find fun, follow what you feel intrigued by. Learn it completely and suck all the juice out of it you can.

Once it's done, you’ll know.

Don’t be afraid to pivot once the hard work starts weighing on you. If it becomes a drag, which everything eventually does, find ways to approach it in a way that rekindles the spark. Maybe you need a change of schedule or role. Maybe it's a new environment that is needed. Maybe, it is something silly like needing to change where you work. We are creatures of change, don't be afraid to experiment with it and move to greener pastures if need be.
